Pork and spinach Quiche *

Whether they are served for breakfast, lunch or dinner, these quiches so simple to make are an excellent all-purpose meal !



Ingredients


  • 1 lb ground pork

  • Pie dough

  • 1/2 cup white wine

  • 2 cups grated cheddar cheese

  • 1 cup 15% cooking cream

  • 5 to 6 eggs

  • 1 onion (Spanish) chopped

  • 2 cups chopped fresh spinach (or baby spinach)

  • 1 tsp ground paprika

  • 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg



Preparation


Preheat the oven to 375°F and place the rack at the bottom of the oven.

On a lightly floured work surface, roll out the dough.

Place the dough in a 9-inch pie pan.

In a large skillet over medium-high heat, melt butter and add spinach.

Cook for about 1 minute, then pour the spinach into a sieve to drain.

In the same skillet, soften the onion for about 5 minutes.

Add the ground pork and brown it while crumbling it.

Add the wine, paprika and nutmeg.

Cook for about 5 minutes. Add salt and pepper to taste.


In a bowl, whisk together the eggs and cream.

Add the cheese and spinach. Stir.

Spread the ground pork on the pie crust.

Pour the egg mixture over the meat.

Bake for about 35 minutes.
